Restoring free trade! EU PV double Anti-dumping will be cancelled on 3rd September
2018-11-09
The photovoltaic industry has long been a “hardest hit” for trade friction between China and Europe and the United States, but it has finally ushered in major positives after the twists and turns – on August 31, the European Commission (hereinafter referred to as the European Commission) issued a notice saying that the EU Anti-dumping and countervailing measures against PV products in China will be terminated after the expiration on 3rd September 2018.
On September 1, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesperson said in a speech on this, China welcomes the EU's "double-reverse" measures against China's PV. The Sino-European PV trade dispute has been gradually resolved. It is the result of the joint efforts of the government and the industry under the high-level concerns of both sides. It is a model for successfully solving trade friction through consultation. "The EU's termination of the "double-reverse" measures against China's photovoltaics will restore the Sino-European PV trade to a normal market, provide a more stable and predictable business environment for the cooperation between the two sides, and truly realize the mutual benefit and win-win between the two industries."
As early as last September, the European Commission issued a final ruling on the review of the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures against PV in China, replacing the original price commitment method with the minimum price. Some insiders analyzed that this will help ease the continued decline in China's exports of photovoltaic products to Europe and the United States. Recently, the European Union announced that it will terminate the "double-reverse" sanctions against PV products in China. For the relevant export enterprises, it will undoubtedly usher in a major positive. As early as 2013, the EU took anti-dumping and countervailing measures against Chinese PV importers for the first time because some local manufacturers suggested that Chinese products were too low in price. Since that year, China's exports of photovoltaic products to Europe have been subject to high tariffs, and the number of PV products exported from China to Europe has also shown a rapid decline.
According to the statistics of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechanical and Electrical Products, since 2013, China's PV products exports have shown a downward trend. Especially for the United States and Europe, there is a "cliff-like" decline.
DAH solar started overseas market since the beginning of 2016, so we didn’t sell to EU so far, but this is indeed a good news to us, that means we have fair chance to compete in EU market with our solar panels and complete on grid off grid solar power systems and off grid solar power systems, and right now . At present, we are actively looking for ways to enter the EU market, actively contact customers, and arrange European exhibitions, hoping to occupy a part of the market share.
